Contract Nuclear Medicine Technician

Preparation and tear down of operations at customer sites, including preparing and inventorying pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, load and unload equipment in/out of the van, setup and tear down diagnostic equipment at the customer site and disposal of medical waste. Understand and implement all policies and procedures which include daily quality control, equipment operations, exam procedures, radiation safety, calibrating and transporting isotope (when necessary) and ordering doses appropriately.

Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Fresno, CA

Duration: 13-week assignment (with potential extension)

Shift: 5x8s, 7am - 3:30pm. Every third weekend Holiday rotation




Pay Package: 

Taxable Wages - $1280

Nontaxable weekly stipend - $1505

Gross Weekly Pay - $2785







ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Quality Assurance: Performs high quality nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures (planar, SPECT, and SPECT/CT), according to exam protocol, in a timely manner. Systematically evaluates the quality of imaging procedures and follows established standards and procedures. Maintains equipment by performing quality control (Q.C.) as required by imaging manufacturers, radiation materials license (RAM), or American College of Radiology (ACR). Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment.




Responsibilities

• Perform functional and/or perfusion rest and stress cardiac studies, including image processing for physician review.
• Understand and implement all policies and procedures which include daily quality control, equipment operations, exam procedures, radiation safety, calibrating and transporting isotope (when necessary) and ordering doses appropriately.
• Insert intra-catheter needle accurately (following procedure) while maintaining aseptic conditions.
• Administer prescribed isotopes and pharmaceuticals per standards and guidelines.
• Maintain all federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure patient safety while providing high quality testing.
• Perform daily quality control checks and calibrations on camera; complete required NRC/State documentation.
• Follow radiation safety policies and NRC/State guidelines for handling of radioactive pharmaceuticals, including but not limited to conducting dadily surveys of hot lab, exam room, camera, and personnel.
• Successfully document testing results, patient medical history using EMR, additional administrative documentation may be required. 
• May be responsible for conducting mobile operations to include the following:
  • Move, load, unload, and/or transport mobile imaging equipment using the Company van.

  • Documenting daily usage and occurrences with the company vehicle.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing consistent, excellent customer service.
• Travel to client sites as scheduled, sites may vary daily/weekly depending on assignment.
