Point Innovation is a multidisciplinary design consultancy with a team of engineers and industrial designers that blend creative and technical design to develop innovative products ranging from consumer goods to luxury aircraft interiors. Our client base extends from individual inventors and small businesses to international corporations.

We are looking for experienced independent contractors (1099s) to work on a contracted "as needed" basis. You may be asked to work independently or collaborate with other team members, depending on the project scope. Because hiring is project based, the duration of each contract will vary. 

Candidates local to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, as well as those outside the area will be considered.

Requirements


Education Requirements:
​

·         Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Requirements Include:

·         At least 3-5 years of related design experience.

·         CAD software proficiency – SolidWorks and/or Creo. 

·         Experience with assembly and surfacing modules.

·         Experience with full product life cycle design using 3D modeling in a production environment.


Additional Preferred Requirements Include:

·         Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems for commercial or medical device products is a plus.

·         Experience with sheet metal part design and/or plastic injection molded part design

·         Prior experience designing products for the medical or industrial field is a plus.

·         Fiber optics or robotics experience a plus.
