Position Summary
The Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of customer, subcontractor, supplier, and consultant agreements supporting utility infrastructure and construction projects. This position partners with operations, project management, estimating, procurement, finance, and executive leadership to ensure contractual compliance, minimize risk, and support successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing commercial contracts within the utility, EPC, engineering, or construction industries and possess strong skills in contract administration, negotiation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
Essential Functions
- Review, draft, negotiate, and administer customer contracts, subcontract agreements, supplier agreements, and consultant agreements.
- Interpret contract terms, conditions, specifications, and commercial requirements.
- Identify contractual, financial, operational, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support proposal development, bid reviews, and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate contract execution with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Maintain contract management systems, records, and document repositories.
- Track contract milestones, deliverables, renewal dates, and key obligations.
- Manage contract amendments, change orders, and scope modifications.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure contractual compliance throughout project execution.
- Review insurance requirements, bonding obligations, and indemnification provisions.
- Support claims avoidance, dispute resolution, and contract closeout activities.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations.
- Coordinate with procurement regarding purchase orders and supplier agreements.
- Support billing and revenue recognition by validating contract requirements.
- Prepare executive reports regarding contract status, risks, and project obligations.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and proprietary company information.
- Recommend improvements to contract processes, templates, and procedures.
- Provide guidance to project teams regarding contractual responsibilities.
