We are seeking a Contract NX Drafter to create detailed engineering drawings for carbon fiber and composite parts. This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys translating engineering designs into clear, accurate documentation that supports manufacturing. This Contract is slated to be 3 months, with the possibility of extension

Job Details

What You’ll Do:
Create and revise detailed part and assembly drawings using Siemens NX.
Develop manufacturing drawings for carbon fiber and composite components using engineering models and specifications.
Document dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and manufacturing notes.
Incorporate composite-specific details, such as laminate requirements, ply orientation, trim boundaries, and bonded interfaces, as directed by engineering.
Collaborate with engineers to clarify design intent and resolve drawing questions.
Incorporate redlines and maintain accurate drawing revisions.
Review drawings for completeness, consistency, and alignment with applicable drafting standards.

What We’re Looking For:
Proficiency in Siemens NX, with hands-on experience producing detailed engineering drawings.
Experience drafting carbon fiber or composite parts.
Ability to translate 3D models and engineering direction into accurate 2D drawings.
Working knowledge of mechanical drafting practices, dimensioning, tolerancing, and GD&T.
Understanding of how composite manufacturing requirements affect drawing documentation.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while communicating with engineering teams.

Preferred Background:
Aerospace, aircraft structures, UAV, or UAS experience.
Familiarity with composite layup, tooling, trimming, bonding, and assembly.
Experience preparing drawings for fabrication or production release.
