    Contract Bookkeeper – Law Firm Experience Required

    The Law Offices of Bob Nehoray is seeking an experienced contract bookkeeper to support our growing California law firm. This is a in office, part-time contract position with the potential for an ongoing relationship. NOT REMOTE

    The ideal candidate has direct bookkeeping experience within a law firm and understands the importance of accuracy, confidentiality, proper documentation, and timely financial reporting.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Reconcile bank, credit card, operating, and client trust accounts
    • Maintain accurate general ledger records
    • Track case-related costs, client advances, reimbursements, and vendor payments
    • Assist with settlement and disbursement reconciliation
    • Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss and balance sheet statements
    • Support payroll reconciliation and contractor payment tracking
    • Organize financial records for tax preparation and audits
    • Identify discrepancies and recommend improvements to bookkeeping procedures
    • Coordinate with firm leadership, payroll providers, accountants, and other vendors as needed

    Required Qualifications

    • Previous bookkeeping experience with a law firm
    • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online
    • Experience with law-firm trust accounting and IOLTA reconciliation
    • Understanding of three-way trust-account reconciliation
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills
