Continuous Improvement Manager

What you will do

• Uphold a genuine regard for safety, ensuring employees understand and follow safety guidelines and recognizing individuals for their involvement
• Drive continuous improvement by spending time on the floor talking with operators, completing time studies, verifying/validating SOPs, etc.
• Lead projects by gathering information from employees, creating tangible goals and deadlines, and reporting improvements to all employees
• Align with the General Manager on priority of projects and provide regular cadence of updates
• Audit quality, safety, and environmental housekeeping procedures
• Flexible to support a 24/7 operation
• Be highly organized and self-directed with an ability to prioritize projects, combined with the ability to provide and receive direction
• Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly absorb new procedures and new industry advancements

Education / professional background

• Bachelors degree required, along with 5+ years of experience in a Continuous Improvement role applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, to work with manufacturing operations personnel throughout the levels of the organization

• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• General knowledge of manufacturing, including the desired properties and quality standards for products

• Must have strong time management skills to handle multiple ongoing projects in addition to day-to-day process problems

• Overcome obstacles and setbacks and react with positivity and optimism in the face of unforeseen challenges

• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Share Point, and the ability to quickly learn software needed to perform job specific duties.

• Flexible Packaging Industry experience (Flexo printing, lamination, and/or converting) is a plus but not required.

• Lean/Six Sigma Certification is preferred
