Continuous Improvement Engineer
Overall Scope
Perform all duties under the general direction of the Plant Manager to coordinate and organize the Continuous Improvement process for the facility.
Minimum Requirements
4 year Bachelor degree in an engineering related areaAt least 3 years continuous improvement experience in a plant settingDemonstrated experience in problem solving and lean toolsStrong computer skillsVery good communications skillsStrong mentoring and training abilityStrong project management, interpersonal, change management skills, including the ability to influence at all levels of the organizationResults oriented with a demonstrated experience of balancing multiple tasks and prioritiesProficient with Minitab or similar type software will be considered an assetSix Sigma Black Belt or similar skill set is preferred
Responsibilities and Duties
Serve as the facility's primary Lean facilitator by personally planning and leading cross-functional improvement projectsPerform a minimum of 6 of these projects a year, as business dictates, with evidence and realization of financial improvementsMentor managers, supervisors, engineers, and employees in the practical use of Lean methods, including visual management, daily accountability, standard work, leader standard work, flow, 5S, and waste elimination.Build visual management systems - performance boards, tiered meetings, action tracking, and escalation paths - that convert operational data into clear priorities and accountability, and that sustain momentum.Develop a strategy to impact the organizations business performance by:
Monitoring and analyzing scrap data to determine project potentialsMonitoring and analyzing efficiency to determine project potentialsWork closely with the Quality Department and Production Department to assist and improve processes utilizing the Corrective Action System

Walking to and around the production floor, sitting at desk.Handling and lifting of various parts on production floor up to 20lbs.Typing on computer, reviewing monitor while sitting in chair at desk.
