GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide overall support to the Alternative Teacher Certification program by increasing the teacher candidate completion rate. Primary responsibilities include coaching novice teachers and mentors while collaborating with campus administration in order to improve the performance and retention of novice teachers. This position receives general direction from the Program Director, Alternative Teacher Certification and exercises no supervision. Not to exceed 19.5 hours per week.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
BENEFITS:
Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
Experience: More than three years of professional experience in an educational environment, preferably with a school district.
Special Requirement: Must have a current Texas Teacher certification
