    Summary
    The Content Strategist moves beyond individual content execution to take ownership of defined content projects and planning assignments. The primary responsibility of this role is to connect research, audience understanding, client objectives, and content development into thoughtful recommendations and well-executed content initiatives. While still a hands-on writer, the Content Strategist begins exercising independent judgment regarding content topics, formats, audiences, and approaches. The ideal candidate will come to us with a strategic mind and an insatiable curiosity to learn about new subjects.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to inform content recommendations.
    • Develop content audits, content recommendations, and defined components of broader content strategies.
    • Recommend appropriate content formats based on audience needs and communications objectives.
    • Lead assigned content projects from research through final delivery.
    • Develop white papers, thought-leadership articles, fact sheets, blogs, bylined articles, web content, and other strategic materials.
    • Interview subject matter experts and synthesize information from scientific literature and other sources.
    • Participate in client discussions regarding assigned projects.
    • Recommend content topics and proactive ideas.
    • Coordinate with PR, creative, digital, and other teams on assigned initiatives.
    • Monitor relevant industry and audience trends that may inform content opportunities.
    • Provide guidance to Content Developers as appropriate.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. Degree work in life sciences and scientific communications preferred. Journalism, English, communications, or a related field are also considered.
    • Approximately 2–4 years of relevant scientific, medical, healthcare, or content-development experience.
    • Demonstrated writing and research ability.
    • Strong understanding of audience-focused communications.
    • Ability to manage projects independently.
    • Strong interviewing and information-synthesis skills.
    • Portfolio of relevant work preferred.
