This position is responsible for managing the organization's social media presence, creating engaging content, and sharing impactful stories that inspire donors, volunteers, and community supporters.The Content & Communication Coordinator will help increase awareness of Meals on Wheels Montgomery County's mission through strategic digital storytelling, community engagement, photography, videography, and content creation. This individual will work closely with the Development Team to support fundraising campaigns, donor communications, volunteer recruitment, and special events.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Content Creation & StorytellingCapture and edit high-quality photos and videos of clients, volunteers, events, donors, and community partners.Create graphics, reels, stories, videos, and other digital content that supports organizational goals.Gather and share impactful stories that showcase the mission and impact of Meals on Wheels Montgomery County.Write engaging social media posts, email content, and promotional materials.Maintain a digital library of photos, videos, and marketing assets.Social Media ManagementDevelop, create, schedule, and publish content across social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging channels.Maintain a consistent brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all digital platforms.Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Develop and maintain content calendars that align with organizational priorities and campaigns.Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices.Development & Fundraising SupportSupport fundraising campaigns through social media promotion and digital storytelling.Create content that encourages donations, volunteer engagement, event participation, and community awareness.Assist with donor recognition and stewardship communication efforts.Work collaboratively with the Development Team to promote fundraising initiatives and sponsorship opportunities.Event Promotion & CoveragePromote organizational events, volunteer opportunities, and community programs through social media.Attend events to capture photos, videos, testimonials, and live social media content.Develop post-event content highlighting impact, participation, and community support.Support marketing efforts before, during, and after fundraising events and campaigns.Attendance at all Meals on Wheels Montgomery County Fundraising Events. Analytics & ReportingTrack social media performance metrics, audience growth, and engagement trends.Prepare reports and recommendations for improving digital engagement.Monitor campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities to expand audience reach and impact.QUALIFICATIONSRequiredBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.Minimum of two years of experience in social media management, marketing, communications, or related fields.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience creating content for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook & TikTok. Strong photography, videography, and storytelling skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.Proficiency in Canva or similar design software.Personal Camera/Videography SuppliesExperience with email marketing platforms and social media scheduling tools.Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.PreferredExperience working in a nonprofit organization.Experience supporting fundraising and donor engagement efforts.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESSocial media strategy and content development.Digital storytelling and brand awareness.Photography, videography, and graphic design.Copywriting and content creation.Strong organizational and project management skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse audiences.Creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail.NOTE: This job description reflects managements assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
