Contamination Control Technician

This position will monitor controlled environments, assist production teams in preventing contamination, maintain required documentation, and identify opportunities for process improvement. Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Contamination Control Technician to support cleanroom and contamination-control activities within its Fairport manufacturing facility.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Contamination Control Technician to support cleanroom and contamination-control activities within its Fairport manufacturing facility. This position will monitor controlled environments, assist production teams in preventing contamination, maintain required documentation, and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled environmental sampling according to documented procedures.
• Collect and document airborne and surface particulate samples.
• Monitor organic, inorganic, and ultrapure-water contamination.
• Order exposure kits and coordinate sampling locations.
• Inspect, clean, and test ionizing guns and bars.
• Monitor the power and frequency of ultrasonic and megasonic equipment.
• Certify clean benches, clean enclosures, and related controlled areas as needed.
• Maintain contamination-control records, procedures, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with coordinating the calibration of monitoring and testing instruments.
• Support cleanrooms and other controlled spaces, including garment supply and rotation.
• Conduct cleanroom protocol audits.
• Document results and file reports in designated systems.
• Report nonconforming activities or conditions to the Contamination Control Engineer.
• Support continuous-improvement efforts related to contamination prevention and control.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (AS or AAS) in a relevant technical or scientific field.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to use Excel for data collection, interpretation, and basic graphing.
• Fundamental knowledge of standard electronic equipment and general troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail, observation, and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions consistently.
• Clear and accurate written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and within a team.
• Good problem-solving skills and a positive, dependable approach to work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with cleanroom protocols.
• Cleanroom experience within semiconductor or similarly controlled manufacturing environments.
• Experience monitoring manufacturing or contamination-control processes.
