Your Impact
This is a newly created role designed to strengthen Continuous Improvement within Fleet Farms distribution network. Youll be embedded in the operation-building relationships with Distribution Center leadership and frontline Team Members, observing how work gets done, using data to uncover opportunities, and helping turn those insights into sustainable process and technology improvements.
A major focus will be Fleet Farms implementation of the Manhattan Labor Management System (LMS). Youll play an important role in the rollout and ultimately become the primary business owner of the system, helping maintain engineered labor standards and ensuring the LMS continues to support accurate, effective, and productive operations.
While this position will eventually support all three Fleet Farm distribution centers, your primary focus will be our Chippewa Falls Distribution Center, where the majority of our distribution labor activity occurs.
What You'll Do
Spend time in the operation partnering with DC leaders and frontline Team Members to understand workflows, identify challenges, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives that increase productivity, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen overall operational performance.
Analyze inventory movement and operational processes to identify bottlenecks, unnecessary steps, delays, and opportunities to improve flow throughout the distribution center.
Use operational data, KPIs, observations, and Team Member feedback to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
Take improvement opportunities from identification and analysis through implementation, measuring results and adjusting solutions when needed.
Build strong relationships with Operations leaders and Team Members to gain support for process changes and ensure improvements are practical and sustainable.
Play a key role in the implementation and ongoing success of Fleet Farms Manhattan Labor Management System (LMS).
Serve as the primary business owner of the LMS following implementation, including maintaining engineered labor standards, warehouse coordinate maps, and related system components.
Ensure labor standards and LMS processes remain accurate and effective as operations and business needs evolve.
Identify opportunities to incorporate new technologies, systems, and processes that improve productivity and operational performance.
Develop data-driven recommendations and communicate findings clearly to Operations and business leaders.
Partner across Distribution, Store Operations, Supply Chain, and other teams to understand downstream impacts and implement improvements across the network.
Support Continuous Improvement efforts at Fleet Farms Chippewa Falls, Appleton, and Oak Creek distribution centers, with Chippewa Falls serving as the primary location.
What You Bring
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred.
3-5 years of related experience with demonstrated responsibility for Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Hands-on experience working within a distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing, or similar operational environment.
Strong understanding of warehouse/distribution operations and how labor, inventory flow, systems, and processes impact productivity.
Demonstrated ability to identify operational inefficiencies, analyze root causes, develop solutions, and help drive those solutions through implementation.
Experience using operational data and KPIs to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and measure results.
Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies such as Lean, process mapping, root-cause analysis, time studies, or similar approaches.
Functional knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and/or Labor Management Systems (LMS) strongly preferred.
Experience with Manhattan WMS/LMS is a plus.
Experience working with engineered labor standards is a plus.
Experience with warehouse automation technology is a plus.
Experience with Business Intelligence, reporting, and/or data analytics tools preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data and observations into actionable recommendations.
Ability to build credibility and productive working relationships with frontline Team Members, Operations leaders, and cross-functional partners.
Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to gain support for change.
What Success Looks Like
Your first several months will focus on learning the operation and building relationships. Youll spend time understanding how work moves through the Chippewa Falls Distribution Center, getting to know the people doing and leading the work, and identifying where the greatest opportunities exist.
Depending on timing, youll also become closely involved in the rollout of Fleet Farms Manhattan Labor Management System, helping ensure the technology, engineered standards, and operational processes work together effectively.
As you grow in the role, youll become a trusted Continuous Improvement partner to Operations and expand your support across Fleet Farms distribution network.
