    Description

    CCCU is looking for a Consumer Loan Officer to evaluate, authorize and deny consumer loan applications for consumers. You will act as a liaison between members and our credit union, helping identify the products and services that best support their financial success. You will assist qualified applicants in acquiring loans in a timely, accurate, courteous and confidential manner. This position is not commission-based or incentive-based, allowing you to focus on providing members with the lending solutions that best meet their needs.

    Responsibilities

    • Evaluate credit worthiness by processing loan applications, evaluating credit reports and providing documentation within specified time limits
    • Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans
    • Determine all applicable ratios and metrics and set up debt payment plans, GAP, MRC and other loan related services
    • Assess member needs, explore all options, introduce different types of loans, and cross-sell products and services to accomplish company and department goals
    • Go the ‘extra mile’ to build relationships, and enhance member loyalty and satisfaction throughout the underwriting process
    • Operate in compliance with laws and regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures, and adhere to lending compliance guidelines
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Skill

    • 4-year degree or some college preferred.
    • 2+ years’ experience Credit and/or Consumer Lending experience in a bank or credit union
    • 2+ years’ customer service experience with an ability to cross-sell products and services
    • Solid understanding of consumer credit and underwriting, including knowledge of Consumer and Home Equity lending in a Centralized Lending environment
    • Familiarity with computers and banking applications/software, including MS Office and in-house data processing systems
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a goal oriented environment with good organizational skills and accuracy while maintaining a positive attitude
