Overview:

Reports to: Consumer Lending Title Supervisor

 

Functions Supervised: None

 

Primary Functions: The Consumer Lending Title Specialist I is responsible for providing foundational support for the Consumer Lending Title Department by processing title-related documentation, perfecting, maintaining and releasing lien perfection requirements, handle inbound and outbound calls, and supporting daily operational workflows. This position focuses on developing technical knowledge of title administration while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and credit union policies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous member service while managing a moderate volume of inbound and outbound telephone interactions in tandem managing manual processing of administration of physical and electronic documents and records
  2. Review, collect, monitor, and process documentation required to perfect, maintain and release the credit union’s security interest through titles, UCC filings, and other collateral instruments, while conducting timely follow-up on pending-title accounts to ensure lien recording and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Verify loan payoff status through daily paid-loan activity reports, obtain payoff information, process payoff authorizations, validate payments received and collateral ownership, and prepare stop payments as needed.
  4. Release titles and respond to routine title, lien satisfaction, and payoff-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  5. Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation and data entry within the title management system while administering physical documents and records.
  6. Perform title follow-up activities on direct and indirect (dealer) loans, research aged pending-title accounts and unusual activity, communicate concerns to management, and collaborate with other departments to resolve title-related issues.
  7. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards governing title processing and related credit union activities.
  8. Perform other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

 

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not Applicable

 

Experience/Skills: Ethical, self-motivated, resourceful, with high attention to detail and the ability to proactively seek solutions. Must possess excellent organizational skills, communication abilities, and robust analytical and problem-solving abilities. Procient in Microsoft Oce Suite and have an ability to learn new computer systems.

 

Tenure: Consumer Lending Title Specialist II, Category 14, requires meeting proven acceptable performance standards with limited guidance from supervisors or management; as established by management. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.

Compensation:

Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and applicable local or state wage requirements, and will fall within the range provided below. In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.

: $49,284 - $73,391 annually

: $45,633 - $66,624 annually

Salary Pay Range: 15
