Description

Job Title: Consumer Insights Manager / Senior Consumer Insights Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Pay Range: $50 - $60 Per Hour

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end consumer insights and market research projects, from research design and methodology through analysis and presentation.
  • Conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research to understand consumer attitudes, behaviors, preferences, and content consumption.
  • Develop audience segmentation and audience strategy frameworks to identify target audiences and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Content, Creative, Marketing, Product, Media, and Publicity teams to incorporate consumer insights into business decisions.
  • Evaluate content concepts, pilots, campaigns, characters, genres, and audience propositions through consumer research.
  • Translate complex research findings into clear, concise, executive-ready narratives and strategic recommendations.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior executives and cross-functional leadership.
  • Manage external research agencies, vendors, and research partners to ensure high-quality execution and deliverables.
  • Design and implement research frameworks, methodologies, and measurement approaches.
  • Conduct global/international research and synthesize insights across different markets and consumer segments.
  • Integrate multiple data sources, including primary research, social analytics, audience measurement, and syndicated research.
  • Identify emerging consumer trends and translate them into implications for content and business strategy.
  • Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the development of the broader Consumer Insights organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Consumer Insights, Market Research, Audience Research, Consumer Research, or a related field.
  • Experience working in entertainment, media, streaming, television, film, or another consumer-facing industry.
  • Strong experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience translating research findings into strategic business recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior executives.
  • Experience managing external research vendors/agencies.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across multiple functions and stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with streaming platforms, film/TV content, or digital entertainment.
  • Experience with audience segmentation, content testing, campaign research, and brand tracking.
  • Experience conducting research across international/global markets.
  • Familiarity with entertainment measurement sources such as Nielsen, Q Scores, E-Poll, or similar platforms.
  • Experience developing research frameworks or new insight methodologies.
  • Experience partnering with Creative, Content, Marketing, Product, Media, or Publicity teams.
  • Strong executive storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing multiple research projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with social analytics and emerging GenAI tools.
