    Research Consultant, Equity
     
    The Research Consultant works as a senior member of the Public Markets Equity team to perform manager due diligence by sourcing and evaluating the capabilities of world-class public equity strategies. The Consultant’s judgment and expertise will help our clients make informed decisions on manager selection, portfolio construction and shape their portfolio success. The role will lead in-depth analysis, identify emerging trends, and collaborate with a dedicated team to achieve optimal investment outcomes in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
    Meketa is flexible about where the Research Consultant works. The Consultant could be located in our Westwood, MA, Portland, OR, Carlsbad, CA or Chicago, IL offices. 

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Source, evaluate and underwrite the capabilities of equity managers across styles and geographies.
    • Identify promising new managers in the relevant asset classes.
    • Monitor managers in which our clients are invested.
    • Draft research work products and communicate the research team’s perspective:
    • Produce manager meeting notes and prepare manager analyses.
    • Present manager analyses at team meetings and critique the analyses of others.
    • Write client memos on managers as required.
    • Contribute to the development of research and updates on the relevant asset classes.
    • Partner with clients to craft portfolio construction, implement investment policies, and conduct manager searches.
    • Lead client meetings, update clients on manager details and deliver asset class education.
    • Work closely with, and support the development of, Research Associates and Analysts.
    • Collaborate with the marketing department to lead marketing and business development efforts to prospective clients.
    • Promote Meketa’s reputation as a leading research organization and client solutions business.

    Job Requirements:
    • A minimum of ten years of experience conducting high-quality research on public equity investment strategies ideally at an investment consulting firm, an endowment/foundation or family office.
    • An MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience providing recommendations on equity portfolio construction, including an understanding of passive, enhanced indexing, quantitative structures and risk budgeting.
    • Deep investment acumen and capital markets experience; skilled at identifying and evaluating managers and building resilient relationships.
    • Experience leading client meetings and cultivating client relationships.
    • Ability to develop and pursue business opportunities.
    • Positive relationship, mentoring, leadership and executive function skills.
    • Strong quantitative skills, including facility with financial and statistical concepts.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to excel in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
    • Experience applying AI-driven tools or workflows to enhance productivity, consolidate information at scale, and reduce manual processes preferred.
