The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of industrial ceramic kilns and related systems. This role coordinates field construction activities, supervises craft labor and subcontractors, ensures compliance with engineering specifications, and maintains safety and quality standards throughout all phases of kiln construction projects. This role requires extensive US travel outside of Pittsburgh and would require being on-site sometimes up to 6-8 weeks or more.
The ideal candidate has experience in industrial construction, refractory installation, thermal processing equipment, and mechanical systems used within the ceramic or heavy industrial manufacturing industries.

Supervise daily construction activities for kiln installation, rebuilds, and maintenance projects.
Coordinate with engineering, project management, and production teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and construction specifications.
Oversee installation of:
Refractory brick and insulation systems
Steel structures and supports
Combustion systems and burners
Mechanical and electrical components
Ductwork, piping, and ventilation systems
Monitor subcontractors and field crews for productivity, workmanship, and safety compliance.
Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications.
Schedule labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities.
Ensure OSHA compliance and enforce all safety procedures and site regulations.
Participate in project planning meetings, progress reporting, and jobsite coordination.
Troubleshoot construction and installation issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
Maintain accurate daily reports, job logs, and documentation.
Assist with commissioning and startup activities for kiln systems.
Support preventive maintenance and shutdown activities at customer facilities as required.
Must be willing to travel extensively to client construction sites and be on-site upwards of 6-8 weeks at a time. #LI-TW1
