Construction Superintendent - Commercial Building

O&G Industries, Inc., an innovative and diversified construction company headquartered in Torrington, Connecticut, is seeking experienced Construction Superintendents to join our Building Division and lead projects throughout Connecticut.

For more than 100 years, O&G has delivered some of the state's most significant construction projects, including K-12 schools, higher education facilities, healthcare campuses, municipal buildings, and commercial developments.

We are looking for experienced field leaders who take ownership of their projects, effectively coordinate subcontractors, and take pride in delivering high-quality construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial building construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily field operations on commercial building construction projects, from mobilization through project completion.

• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, materials, and equipment to maintain project schedules, productivity, and quality.

• Develop and manage short-term construction schedules, coordinate upcoming work, and proactively address potential delays.

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements.

• Lead jobsite coordination meetings and maintain effective communication with subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders.

• Identify and resolve field challenges while minimizing disruptions to project schedules and operations.

• Promote and enforce jobsite safety, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and project teams to support successful project delivery.

• Implement Lean construction practices to improve efficiency, coordination, and workflow.

• Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and project records.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in commercial building construction, including demonstrated field leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing daily field operations on commercial construction projects.

• Experience with K-12 schools, higher education, healthcare, municipal, or other large-scale commercial construction projects preferred.

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, sequencing, and field operations.

• Knowledge of construction planning, cost control, and quality management.

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve challenges in a fast-paced construction environment.

• Experience with Procore, construction scheduling software, or similar project management tools preferred.

• OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $160,000, based on qualifications and experience.
