    Construction Field Auditor 

    Location: Pittsburgh, PA 
    Employment Type: W2 Contract (5 months) with potential for extension or full-time conversion 
    Pay: $40/hour + optional Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) 

    Job Overview 

    We are seeking a Construction Field Auditor to support fiber and coax network construction projects throughout the Pittsburgh area and surrounding regions. This role is primarily field-based (approximately 80%), performing construction quality audits, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and verifying the successful completion of overhead and underground telecommunications infrastructure projects. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Conduct field audits of fiber and coax construction projects, including inspections of nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, enclosures, and related network infrastructure. 

    • Verify construction quality, compliance with company standards, and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. 

    • Review and validate contractor work, audit rework items, and ensure corrective actions are completed on time. 

    • Serve as the primary field liaison between contractors, network technicians, and project stakeholders. 

    • Review construction documentation, design prints, maps, and job records to ensure accuracy and path verification. 

    • Monitor project progress, production logs, material usage, and labor expenditures. 

    • Support project coordination efforts and maintain regular communication with contractors and internal teams. 

    • Conduct site visits and reinforce safety standards through inspections and participation in safety meetings. 

    • Complete daily reporting, documentation, and tracking using Microsoft Office, Teams, Smartsheet, and related systems. 

    • Travel to project sites as needed, including occasional overnight travel (hotel accommodations provided). 

    Required Qualifications 

    • Hands-on experience with fiber and coax construction projects. 

    • Prior experience performing construction quality audits or field inspections. 

    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, network designs, and utility prints. 

    • Knowledge of overhead and underground telecommunications construction practices. 

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Smartsheet. 

    • Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills. 

    • Ability to work independently in a remote and field-based environment. 

    • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed. 

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Network Maintenance Technician (NMT) experience. 

    • Experience with telecommunications network troubleshooting and maintenance. 

    • Strong understanding of construction safety standards and quality control processes.
