Construction Site Manager – Power Generation (Data Center)
Project Length: 12–24 months
Project Type: On-site power generation facility supplying a data center via gas-powered turbines
Overview
We’re looking for a Construction Site Manager to run day-to-day site operations on a power generation project supporting a new data center. The site runs gas-fired turbines to generate electricity. The site will have its own internal Construction Manager, so this role sits above a typical Chief Inspector but reports into the client CM — you’ll own the field while the client holds overall project management.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily construction activities on-site across trades and contractors
- Serve as the senior field leader, bridging inspection teams and the client’s internal CM
- Oversee scheduling, sequencing, and coordination of field work
- Monitor quality, safety, and compliance across all construction activities
- Track progress, document field conditions, and report status to the client CM
- Resolve field issues and escalate scope, schedule, or safety concerns as needed
- Coordinate inspectors and ensure inspection coverage aligns with project needs
Qualifications
- Strong construction field leadership experience, beyond a Chief Inspector level
- Power generation, energy, pipeline, or heavy industrial construction background preferred
- Able to manage crews, contractors, and inspection teams in the field
- Comfortable operating under a client-side CM while owning day-to-day site management
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Able to commit to a 1–2 year project
