Summary
Oversees multiple capital projects for construction of new facilities and the repair and renovation of existing facilities through the management and coordination of design professionals and contractors to ensure compliance with programmed budgets, schedules, plans, specifications, statutes, and regulations.
Manages multiple construction and remodel projects ranging in size up to $200,000,000. Facilitates the delivery of multiple projects on time and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements

TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
TO APPLY, must have Five (5) full-time years of work experience managing multiple practical facility or vertical capital projects in the $5,000,000 to $200,000,000 range.
TO APPLY, must possess a current and valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. Note: A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.
Licensure in the State of Texas as a Registered Architect OR Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
Experience in design, production, construction administration, and client interface.
Knowledge of building systems, design, construction, and related management strategies.
Working knowledge of building codes and understanding of ADA/TAS and life safety issues.
Knowledge of city permitting and inspection processes.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be customer-oriented.
Ability to expedite complex projects.
Good organizational skills.
Initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
Ability to establish priorities and follow through on projects, paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision.
Ability to complete assignments under time constraints.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to interface effectively with professional consultants, contractors, and staff.
Professional-level writing skills appropriate for correspondence, reports, action plans, and responses to various sources.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical manuals.
Understanding of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management software.
High level of expertise in all areas of construction including, but not limited to, the ability to assess and manage the work of others in many divergent areas of construction.
Strong project management skills.
Principles of management and supervision in order to plan, organize and lead a division.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment

Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, climb ladders, climb stairs, hear, keyboard, lift between waist and shoulder, tolerate noise, tolerate hot and cold outside temperatures, reach, negotiate rough or uneven surfaces, see color, see far and near, sit, stand, talk, use his/her hands, drive a vehicle, walk, work alone and with others, and work overtime. Accidents or injury may occur during construction site visits and inspections.
