Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Residential Construction Remodeling Assistant to join our client's team!This is a hands-on opportunity for a well-rounded construction professional with at least 10 years of residential remodeling experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple trades and be comfortable assisting with a variety of home improvement projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, flooring, drywall, and general carpentry.
You will work alongside the lead carpenter and company owner to complete high-quality remodeling projects while maintaining excellent workmanship, safety standards, and professionalism.If you take pride in your craftsmanship, enjoy working on residential projects, and have the skills to handle a variety of construction tasks, we encourage you to apply!
Job Details
- Pay Rate: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Overtime: Some overtime opportunities available
- Work Location: Various job sites throughout Central Ohio, primarily Northwest Columbus, Downtown Columbus, and New Albany
- Weekends: Generally off
Responsibilities
- Assist with residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and other home improvements.
- Perform a variety of construction tasks, including framing, drywall installation, painting, flooring, cabinetry, and finish carpentry.
- Support the lead carpenter and company owner in completing projects according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and project specifications.
- Safely and effectively operate power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment.
- Perform demolition, site preparation, material handling, and job-site cleanup as needed.
- Troubleshoot construction-related issues and assist with finding practical solutions in the field.
- Ensure all work meets company quality expectations and follows established safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with team members and homeowners throughout the project.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in residential construction and remodeling.
- Proficiency in multiple trades, including carpentry, drywall, flooring, painting, and general home improvements.
- Experience with a variety of residential remodeling projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites throughout Central Ohio.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must adhere to the company's no-smoking policy at job sites.
