    Quality Supervisor

    Position Summary

    The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for leading and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System to ensure compliance with company, customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.

    This position will provide direct leadership of quality inspection activities while partnering with Operations, Engineering, and site leadership to drive product quality, process discipline, and operational excellence. The Quality Supervisor will also support the company’s applicable U, S, and R Stamp programs and ensure quality processes are consistently followed.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Understand, communicate, and enforce the company’s quality assurance and safety programs.
    • Manage and define the responsibilities of QA/QC personnel and assign individual tasks.
    • Lead quality inspection activities and personally perform inspections as needed.
    • Inspect and perform quality testing on materials and manufactured equipment, including vessels, tanks, and piping systems, during construction and maintenance activities.
    • Document inspections and ensure all quality documentation is accurate, complete, organized, and submitted in a timely manner.
    • Review Welding Procedures and Welder Qualifications to verify applicability and compliance with project requirements.
    • Prepare accurate and timely quality reports for customers, management, and project leadership.
    • Maintain and assemble quality documentation and records for project/job packages.
    • Manage third-party inspectors and review their company procedures, qualifications, and technician certifications.
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, regulatory representatives, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
    • Support the company’s applicable ASME and code-stamp programs.
    • Identify quality issues and work collaboratively with Operations and Engineering to resolve non-conformances and improve processes.
    • Work independently with minimal supervision and proactively address quality-related issues.
    • Comply with all company policies, including applicable Drug and Alcohol policies.

    Required Skills & Knowledge

    • Ability to read, interpret, and enforce applicable codes, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
    • Strong working knowledge of applicable ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code requirements, ASME B31 piping codes, and NBIC requirements.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate Welding Procedures and Welder Qualifications.
    • Ability to perform quality control inspections and determine whether work conforms to applicable requirements.
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to create and maintain accurate, organized, and traceable quality documentation.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with customers, inspectors, management, and field personnel.
    • Ability to follow instructions, procedures, specifications, and quality requirements precisely and consistently.
    • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to comply with company driving policies.

    Education & Experience

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in one or more of the following:
    • Power generation
    • Boiler construction or maintenance
    • Pressure vessels
    • Piping construction
    • Refinery or industrial construction
    • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
    • API 510, API 570, and/or API 653 certification is highly preferred.
    • Experience working with ASME, NBIC, welding, pressure vessels, piping, and industrial quality requirements strongly preferred.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    • Approximately 75% of the position is performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
    • May be required to work in varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and humid environments.
    • May work in environments where exposure to hydrocarbon vapors, fumes, chemicals, and other industrial substances may occur.
    • May be exposed to elevated and continuous levels of noise and vibration, extreme temperatures, and hot equipment.
    • May be required to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and other access structures.
    • May be required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, crouch, and perform other physical activities for extended periods.
    • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the work environment.

    Travel

    • Up to 25% travel may be required depending on project and business needs.
