We are seeking an experienced and organized Construction Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, financial performance, execution, and closeout of assigned construction projects. This position serves as the primary point of coordination among owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, internal teams, and field leadership.
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead projects from internal turnover and preconstruction through procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, punch-list completion, and final closeout.
Review contracts, drawings, specifications, scopes, estimates, schedules, and project risks to establish effective execution plans.
Develop and maintain project schedules covering design milestones, submittals, procurement, manufacturing, deliveries, installation, inspections, and closeout.
Manage budgets, cost reports, commitments, forecasts, billings, cash flow, contingency, and projected final costs; identify and address unfavorable cost trends.
Prepare, negotiate, document, and track change orders, potential change events, notices, claims, and schedule impacts.
Coordinate with internal design, engineering, estimating, procurement, manufacturing, quality, safety, logistics, and field operations teams.
Lead project meetings and communicate agendas, action items, responsibilities, and deadlines.
Manage submittals, RFIs, design clarifications, document control, material approvals, and project correspondence.
Procure and administer subcontractor and vendor scopes while ensuring contractual, insurance, safety, quality, and schedule requirements are met.
Partner with the Superintendent to coordinate manpower, sequencing, site logistics, inspections, turnover, and recovery plans.
Maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders while protecting the company's contractual and financial interests.
Monitor safety and quality requirements, addressing unsafe conditions, nonconformance issues, punch-list items, and warranty concerns.
Provide leadership with timely reporting on schedule, costs, risks, staffing, customer concerns, and decisions requiring support.
Complete project closeout, including final billing, retainage, as-built documentation, warranties, turnover packages, subcontractor closeout, and lessons learned.
Take ownership of project results, communicate proactively, set clear expectations, and hold team members accountable.
Balance excellent customer service with disciplined contract administration, cost control, schedule management, and risk mitigation.
Experience Requirements:
5+ years of progressively responsible construction project management experience, preferably with a general contractor, specialty contractor, design-builder, or manufacturer supporting complex projects.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, change orders, project documentation, customer relationships, and project closeout.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and scopes of work.
Strong written, verbal, negotiation, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Experience with detention, corrections, justice, modular construction, precast, prefabricated MEP systems, detention equipment, security electronics, or other technically complex construction is preferred.
Experience coordinating design, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and field installation within an integrated project-delivery model is preferred.
Education & Credentials:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field; equivalent construction experience may be considered.
PMP, CCM, OSHA 30, or other relevant construction credentials preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project-management software. Experience with CMiC, Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software is preferred.
Valid driver's license and ability to satisfy company driving requirements.
Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform standard office duties and safely access active construction and manufacturing environments.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, climb stairs or ladders, navigate uneven surfaces, and wear required PPE.
Occasionally lift or carry up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Travel Requirements:
Regular travel to project sites, manufacturing facilities, customer meetings, and company locations is required.
Travel frequency will vary by project assignment and may include overnight travel.
This position works across office, manufacturing, and active construction-site environments and may occasionally require work outside normal business hours.
