Title: Construction Manager V – Commissioning / Readiness Assurance
Location: Monroe, LA – Onsite
Duration: 12+ Month Contract
Compensation: $80–$90/hr W2
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
Skillset / Experience:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager V – Commissioning / Readiness Assurance to support Meta’s large-scale data center construction program in Monroe, Louisiana. This role will focus on commissioning readiness and execution across a multi-building, multi-General-Contractor campus, ensuring mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and life-safety systems are properly installed, tested, validated, and ready for turnover to operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Levels 1–5 commissioning within data center, mission-critical, industrial, or other complex facilities and the technical expertise to evaluate commissioning dependencies, identify true readiness requirements, and optimize testing and turnover sequencing without compromising safety, quality, or system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and support Levels 1–5 commissioning execution, including commissioning plans, schedules, scripts, test procedures, factory witness testing, pre-functional checks, startup, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, and final turnover.
Establish and manage commissioning readiness and entry criteria for systems and buildings, including energization, permanent power, clean and dry conditions, controls point-to-point completion, fire/life-safety acceptance, water treatment, and AHJ requirements.
Independently verify system readiness through field inspections, testing documentation, and technical review rather than relying solely on contractor-reported status.
Manage open commissioning conditions and deficiencies from identification through technical assessment, ownership, escalation, corrective action, and verified closure.
Evaluate contractor-proposed commissioning dependencies and determine whether they represent true technical prerequisites or conservative scheduling assumptions.
Develop alternative commissioning strategies when appropriate, including partial system turnover, area-by-area acceptance, and parallel commissioning activities, while maintaining complete testing and turnover documentation.
Review design documents, submittals, sequences of operation, shop drawings, commissioning procedures, and schedules for constructability, testability, and compliance with project requirements.
Witness commissioning activities and validate BMS/EPMS controls, alarms, setpoints, trending, and system failure responses during functional and integrated testing.
Coordinate across multiple General Contractors, subcontractors, vendors, design teams, construction management, scheduling, change management, security, network, and operations teams.
Present commissioning readiness, open conditions, schedule impacts, and technical risks to project leadership.
Support safe energization and testing activities while enforcing LOTO, NFPA 70E, arc flash/PPE, and other site safety requirements.
Track commissioning readiness metrics, deficiencies, punch items, schedule performance, and turnover progress across multiple buildings.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of commissioning, startup, testing, field engineering, or related experience within data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial construction, or large commercial projects.
3+ years of direct responsibility for commissioning readiness and sequencing across multi-building or multi-contractor environments.
Strong experience with Levels 1–5 commissioning and end-to-end commissioning deliverables.
Demonstrated experience with functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, startup, energization, and turnover.
Ability to define and independently verify commissioning entry criteria and conditions precedent.
Strong understanding of commissioning dependencies and the ability to evaluate and optimize sequencing based on actual technical requirements.
Working knowledge of electrical infrastructure such as MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, ATS, and PDUs and/or mechanical cooling infrastructure such as chillers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC units, and air-handling systems.
Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, P&IDs, control diagrams, and sequences of operation.
Experience coordinating multiple contractors and trades within an active construction environment.
Ability to work onsite and support flexible hours, including nights and weekends, during critical testing and commissioning windows.
Preferred Qualifications:
Data center or hyperscale mission-critical commissioning experience.
Commissioning certification such as ACG CxA, BCxP, NEBB, or equivalent, or a PE license.
Experience with BMS and EPMS platforms.
Familiarity with ASHRAE Guideline 0/1.1, NFPA 70E, LOTO, energization sequencing, and arc flash requirements.
Primavera P6 or similar CPM scheduling experience.
Experience with ACC and commissioning management tools.
Background supporting multiple concurrent buildings or large-scale campus programs.
Experience within semiconductor, oil and gas, healthcare, or other high-scale industrial environments will also be considered.
