Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of artificial turf construction projects from pre-construction planning through project closeout. This role owns project execution, budget performance, schedule management, client communication, risk mitigation, and overall project outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can manage multiple concurrent projects, build strong relationships with customers and vendors, anticipate challenges before they impact project performance, and drive projects to completion safely, on time, and within budget.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle from turnover through closeout.
- Oversee multiple concurrent construction projects with varying schedules, budgets, and complexities.
- Interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements to ensure successful execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, procurement plans, and resource coordination activities.
- Monitor budgets, costs, forecasts, and project profitability.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies before issues escalate.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendor relationships.
- Lead customer communication and provide regular project updates.
- Review and manage change orders, billing activities, and scope modifications.
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor to support project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, contract requirements, and safety expectations.
- Prepare project reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve project execution processes.
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers and provide guidance to developing operations team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of construction project management experience.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer relationships.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred
- Civil construction, sports construction, sitework, grading, earthwork, athletic field, or related experience.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- ASBA industry involvement or certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred for experienced candidates.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
