Construction Project Manager


Location: New Orleans, LA -- Full-time, on-site position. Approximately 80-90% of the role will be spent at project sites, with the remaining time in the office.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee high-quality residential construction and renovation projects from planning through completion. This person will coordinate field operations, manage subcontractors and schedules, maintain clear communication with clients, and ensure every project meets Dixie Construction's standards for craftsmanship and service. The ideal candidate understands the unique challenges of working on older New Orleans homes and genuinely enjoys the construction process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage residential construction, renovation, remodeling, and restoration projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate daily activities among field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and material requirements.
  • Review plans, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure projects meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits and address field issues promptly.
  • Communicate project progress, changes, and concerns clearly to clients and company leadership.
  • Track labor, materials, change orders, and project costs.
  • Maintain accurate and current information in the company's project-management systems.
  • Help create a more organized, efficient, and accountable project-delivery process.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of construction project-management experience required. 
  • Residential renovation or restoration experience is required.
  • Experience with historic homes or custom residential construction is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications is required.
  • Experience with Buildertrend or CoConstruct is preferred.
  • Strong scheduling, budgeting, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for travel between project sites throughout Greater New Orleans. 
  • Positive, level-headed attitude and genuine enthusiasm for construction.

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time, W-2 employment.
  • Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience.
  • Eligible for performance bonuses of up to $2,000 per quarter ($8,000 maximum annually).
  • Two weeks of paid time off.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Gas allowance for work-related travel.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with occasional additional time required based on project needs.
