    Construction Project Manager

    Location: Houston, TX
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Position Overview

    Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join their growing team in Houston, Texas. This position plays a critical role in the successful execution of complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects by overseeing construction activities from pre-construction planning through project completion and warranty.

    The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with extensive experience managing project safety, quality, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, field personnel, and client relationships. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-profile projects across multiple industries while working with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead day-to-day execution of one or multiple construction projects simultaneously.
    • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
    • Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
    • Participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and cost development.
    • Establish project objectives and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a primary point of contact during project execution.
    • Support proposal development and participate in project-related client meetings.
    • Lead contract negotiations, subcontract administration, and change order management.
    • Participate in project risk assessments and collaborate with legal teams as needed.
    • Implement project execution plans, including construction, quality assurance, safety, procurement, staffing, and subcontracting strategies.
    • Develop staffing plans and coordinate project resources across multiple disciplines.
    • Oversee site mobilization, demobilization, logistics, and site layout planning.
    • Verify all required permits and regulatory approvals are obtained.
    • Manage subcontractor procurement, bid evaluations, contractor prequalification, and contract awards.
    • Review project budgets, cash flow forecasts, financial reports, and project status updates for executive leadership.
    • Coordinate engineering deliverables to align with construction schedules.
    • Oversee Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, contract administration, claims mitigation, and project documentation.
    • Manage project invoicing and payment processes for owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
    • Coordinate commissioning and startup activities with clients and suppliers.
    • Maintain project documentation and ensure accurate project records throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Verify compliance with insurance, licensing, bonding, tax, and contractual requirements.
    • Conduct project safety, quality, financial, and progress audits.
    • Lead non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.
    • Manage project scheduling, work breakdown structures, cost reporting, and progress tracking.
    • Oversee material receiving, inventory management, storage, and transportation activities.
    • Review field reports and ensure subcontractor compliance with contract requirements.
    • Direct project turnover, warranty administration, closeout documentation, and record retention.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, industry partners, and public stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local labor organizations and building trades.
    • Manage labor planning, staffing, productivity, craft classifications, labor costs, and equipment utilization.
    • Monitor earned value, schedule performance, change management, and cost metrics.
    • Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Construction Coordinators, field supervision, interns, and project staff.
    • Provide performance feedback and assist in the professional development of project team members.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of construction project management experience.
    • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Demonstrated experience managing EPC, construction management, or large industrial construction projects.
    • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, estimating, budgeting, cost control, contract administration, and project execution.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience using project management, scheduling, document control, and cost management software is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Valid driver's license with the ability to meet company driving requirements.
