Project Manager

Due to continued growth and an active project pipeline, they are seeking a Project Manager to join their Hartford-area team and play a key role in delivering successful commercial construction projects.

Job Description

Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through project completion. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasting reports. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal project teams. Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to clients and company leadership. Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals to ensure project compliance. Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability. Manage procurement activities and long-lead material tracking. Oversee change order management and negotiate cost impacts with subcontractors and clients. Ensure jobsite safety standards and quality control procedures are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Resolve project challenges proactively and implement solutions to keep projects on track. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners. Support project closeout activities, including punch list completion, final documentation, and turnover.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have a proven track record managing commercial construction projects for a general contractor. They will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications include: 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial construction. Experience overseeing projects valued between $5M and $50M+. Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration. Experience with healthcare, education, corporate interiors, retail, or institutional projects is preferred. Ability to effectively manage subcontractors and client relationships. Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with project teams while maintaining ownership of project outcomes.
