Construction Project Manager - Greater Boston

BELMONT Search is a construction executive search firm serving general contractors and construction managers across New England. We are engaged on current and upcoming Project Manager searches with builders across Greater Boston, on commercial, institutional, life science and multifamily projects.

THE OPPORTUNITY

These positions carry full commercial and delivery responsibility for a project: the budget, the schedule, the client relationship and the result. The Project Manager is the person an organization relies on to know the true position of the job at any point in it.

THE ROLE

You will own the project from buyout through closeout, and the leadership above you should learn of a problem from you before they learn of it anywhere else.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the budget from buyout through final requisition
• Manage change orders, monthly billing, and cost forecasts that remain reliable late in the project
• Direct subcontractor buyout and the scope review that prevents disputes later
• Maintain a single schedule, developed with the superintendent
• Lead owner and design team meetings
• Close the project so that the client requests you on the next one

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Five or more years managing commercial, institutional or multifamily construction
• Projects in the $5M to $50M range, or a single larger project carried end to end
• Command of the contract, the submittal process and the cost report
• A construction management or engineering degree is an advantage. A record of completed projects is the requirement.

COMPENSATION

Base salary of $115,000 to $160,000, plus bonus, depending on the builder and the project portfolio.
