Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead large-scale federal construction projects from award through closeout. This role carries full ownership of project execution, including schedule, budget, contracts, client relationships, compliance requirements, and overall profit and loss performance.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record managing complex projects valued at $10M+, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal project teams. Federal construction experience is highly preferred, particularly with USACE projects. One opening may also be considered for candidates with experience managing highly regulated construction projects such as DoD, SCIF, mission-critical, healthcare, or other secure environments.

This position offers the opportunity to join an established and highly respected Colorado-based general contractor with a dedicated federal construction division and a strong pipeline of repeat-client work.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Flexible office location within Colorado, including: Colorado Springs (preferred), Centennial, or Fort Collins
  • Travel required approximately once a month for about 3 days at a time
  • Primarily office-based project management role with regular jobsite visits

Responsibilities:

  • Manage federal construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Maintain full responsibility for project budgets, schedules, contracts, and profitability
  • Develop and manage Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) packages
  • Lead subcontractor buyout, negotiations, procurement, and contract administration
  • Evaluate, price, negotiate, and execute change orders
  • Monitor project costs, forecasting, cash flow, and financial performance
  • Prepare and manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Oversee project documentation, compliance requirements, and risk management activities
  • Ensure adherence to federal project standards, regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Partner with field teams to drive schedule performance, quality, and safety initiatives
  • Lead project closeout activities and successful turnover to clients
  • Mentor and provide leadership to project team members

Qualifications:

Must Have

  • Bachelor"s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager
  • Proven experience managing at least 3 construction projects valued at $10M+
  • Federal construction project experience
  • Experience with budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and profit & loss management
  • GMP development and contract administration experience
  • Subcontractor buyout, negotiation, and management experience
  • Change order management and pricing experience
  • Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and construction management software
  • Willingness to travel approximately once per month

Nice to Have

  • USACE project experience
  • Experience managing DoD, SCIF, healthcare, mission-critical, or other highly regulated projects
  • Primavera P6 scheduling experience
  • Experience managing projects in the $15M-$20M+ range
  • Experience working in design-build and negotiated delivery environments

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
