The Construction Project Assistant 1 plays a critical role in supporting the successful execution of construction projects across Maverik’s growing store footprint. This position serves as a central coordinator between construction managers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to keep projects organized, on schedule, and financially aligned. From tracking contracts and payments to managing documentation and project timelines, this role helps ensure a seamless transition from construction completion to store operations while maintaining strong communication and attention to detail throughout the project lifecycle.

Location/Schedule: This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters with a 4-day hybrid in-office schedule.
Position Summary & Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
The Construction Project Assistant 1 supports construction operations through project coordination, administrative support, budget tracking, and communication management. This role works closely with construction managers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to help keep projects moving efficiently from initiation through completion.
  • Support Construction Managers with project coordination, contracts, schedules, and documentation throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Track contractor pay applications, reconcile project budgets, and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Maintain accurate project records and status updates within construction tracking systems and software applications.
  • Coordinate communication between internal teams, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to support project deadlines and issue resolution.
  • Assist with finalizing project paperwork, permits, and jurisdictional requirements to ensure smooth project closeout and transition to operations.
  • Serve as a central organizational hub across multiple teams by managing timelines, priorities, and project-related administrative tasks.
You’ll be a great fit for this adventure if you have:
  • 1+ years of administrative, project coordination, or operational support experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems, software platforms, and tracking tools with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.

Bonus points if you also bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; Associate degree may also be considered.
  • Previous experience supporting construction, development, facilities, or project-based teams.
  • Experience tracking budgets, invoices, contracts, or project financials within operational or construction environments.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $24.50 -$26.00 + DOE and Bonus Opportunities
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
