This role plays a critical part in the financial success of our projects by ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely reporting throughout the lifecycle of each job.What You Will DoAs a Project Accountant, you will manage and monitor the financial aspects of projects from start to finish. You will partner closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and the Finance team to ensure budgets are accurate, billings are timely, and financial performance is clearly understood.Project Financial ManagementPrepare and monitor project budgets and conduct regular budget reviews to ensure projects remain within budget.Create and maintain project budgets in the accounting system, including updating contracts and entering change orders.Conduct detailed monthly job cost reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial reporting.Analyze project costs, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in billing.Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.Billing & Revenue ManagementCreate timely and accurate AIA construction billings, including lump sum and GMP projects.Ensure compliance with contract requirements and billing guidelines.Handle routine collections and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payment.Support accurate revenue recognition through consistent reconciliation and review.Collaboration & ComplianceCompile information and documentation for external auditors as needed.Support the management team with financial insights and project analysis.Assist in improving internal processes and best practices to streamline project-related information flow.Take on additional responsibilities to support the broader Finance and Operations teams.What You BringWe are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, reliable financial information.Experience & EducationMinimum of 3 years of GC commercial construction accounting experience preferred.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or applicable degree preferred.Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.Experience with AIA-formatted pay applications.Working knowledge of project contracts and change order documentation.Proficiency in Vista software preferred.Skills & StrengthsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize competing deadlines.Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong people skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach.High level of integrity and accountability.What You Will Experience at M&FWe are grounded in our people and committed to creating an environment where you can grow personally and professionally.Competitive base salary based on experienceAnnual bonus potentialCompany-sponsored health care benefitsRetirement benefitsPTO, holiday, and sick timeCell phone allowanceBeyond compensation, you will experience:A collaborative and supportive work environmentCoaching and development opportunitiesA culture that values quality, service, and accountabilityTeam-building events such as par 3 golf outings, rodeo trips, and family picnicsA leadership team committed to mentoring and continuous improvementIf you are passionate about construction finance, thrive on accuracy and accountability, and want to be part of a company where your work truly matters, we would love to connect with you.Work Schedule & ConditionsStandard schedule: Monday–Friday 8AM – 5PM (with flexibility as needed).Some overtime or weekend work may be required.Travel to project sites across Texas may be required.CompensationBase Salary – Based on ExperienceAnnual Bonus PotentialHealth Care BenefitsRetirement BenefitsCell Phone AllowanceEqual Employment Opportunity StatementMuckleroy & Falls is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
