Position Overview:
Ready To Take the Next Step in Your CMT Career?
If you have a strong foundation in Construction Materials Testing and you're ready for more project ownership and client visibility, this is an opportunity to grow into a true project leadership role.
As a CMT Project Manager II, you'll take projects from proposal through completion, balancing client relationships, scheduling, field resources, quality, and financial performance. You'll be trusted to lead conversations with clients, work through project challenges, and help keep complex work moving forward.
You won't be disconnected from the work happening in the field. When projects need additional technical support or coverage, you'll have the opportunity to step in and help the team deliver.
Pay Range:
USD $80,000.00 - USD $83,000.00 /Yr.
Responsibilities:
What You'll Do
- Own CMT projects from proposal through completion, keeping scope, schedule, budget, and quality on track.
- Develop strong proposals, estimates, scopes of work, and project plans.
- Coordinate technicians and laboratory resources to meet changing project schedules.
- Lead client conversations, build trusted relationships, and confidently address project challenges.
- Monitor budgets, costs, forecasting, and overall project performance.
- Provide technical guidance to field teams and junior project staff.
- Partner across engineering, laboratory, safety, operations, and business development teams.
- Step into the field when needed to support inspections, testing, and higher-complexity projects.
What Will Make You Successful
You're someone who already understands CMT and is ready for the next level of responsibility. You can organize multiple moving pieces without losing sight of the client, and you're comfortable leading a meeting rather than just participating in one.
You'll stand out if you bring:
- Prior construction materials testing and inspection experience
- Strong proposal development and project scheduling experience
- Confidence leading client meetings and navigating project challenges
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Working knowledge of CMT standards and technical specifications
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with both clients and field teams
- Willingness to remain hands-on and support field operations when needed
Why This Opportunity?
This role offers a natural progression for someone who has built strong CMT expertise and wants to broaden their impact. You'll gain greater ownership of projects, stronger client exposure, opportunities to mentor others, and experience managing the business side of project delivery while maintaining your technical connection to the field.
It's a strong fit for someone ready to move from doing the work to leading the work, without losing the hands-on experience that made them successful in CMT.
