(EBA) is looking for a Construction Manager to oversee construction activities, project personnel, inspection, materials testing, documentation, budgets, schedules, and contract administration. If you are ready to take ownership of project delivery, coordinate with contractors and stakeholders, and lead field teams on transportation and heavy civil projects, EBA is the place to grow your career.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:As a Construction Manager, your responsibilities will encompass:Managing assigned elements of construction projects to verify the contractor's compliance with plans and contract documents, including project personnel, inspection, materials quality control and quality assurance testing, project documentation, budgets, schedules, and contract administration under the direction of the Area Construction EngineerProviding project management and construction-related consultation to the Area Construction Engineer or designee, including investigations, evaluations, and written documentation as assignedAnalyzing and interpreting project plans, contract language, and specifications to evaluate constructability and identify potential construction issuesIdentifying design errors and evaluating their potential impact on the Department and contractorReviewing project documentation and records for compliance with Department requirements and directing changes or corrections when neededReviewing contractor progress and making recommendations for partial and final paymentsMonitoring project budgets and schedules and recommending adjustments to the Area Construction EngineerSupervising and managing project staff, including reviewing work products for compliance with Department requirements and project proceduresConducting pre-construction conferences, utility coordination meetings, construction progress meetings, and other project meetingsPreparing project management correspondence and reviewing recommendations prepared by project staffRecommending resolutions to field construction problems and design changesPreparing and reviewing work orders, independent detailed construction estimates, and Time Impact AnalysesCoordinating with project design teams, materials personnel, environmental staff, traffic engineering, right-of-way representatives, the public, contractors, and other parties necessary to meet contract schedules and requirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities:A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field8+ years of relevant construction management, inspection, or heavy civil/infrastructure experienceCertified Construction Manager (CCM) credentialProven experience managing heavy civil or infrastructure construction projects, including construction site supervisionAbility to conduct constructability and biddability reviews and perform cost and schedule analysesAbility to supervise and manage project staff and employee work groupsAbility to interpret roadway and bridge plans, specifications, and contractsAbility to prepare technical, financial, administrative, and explanatory correspondenceStrong task and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of survey, nuclear density, and materials testing equipmentProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software systems used by VDOTProficiency with project management and documentation tools such as Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, Prolog, or similar softwareExtensive knowledge of construction estimating, cost management, contract administration, scheduling, and regulatory complianceStrong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical documentsDemonstrated ability to lead teams while maintaining project safety requirements and construction standardsStrong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with clients, contractors, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience managing VDOT transportation construction projects and working with VDOT construction management systems and proceduresExperience with roadway, bridge, utility, maintenance of traffic, materials testing, and other transportation construction activitiesIf you meet these criteria and are ready to embark on an exciting opportunity, we encourage you to apply and be part of our team!BENEFITS:We offer a range of benefits to help you thrive in your career, including a competitive salary and comprehensive compensation package;
