Job Summary

Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering firm specializing in the design, integration, and construction management of capital asset projects. We provide comprehensive project management services from ideation, budgeting, and capital approval through construction and startup. We pride ourselves on completing quality projects and developing partnerships with our clients and vendors. This position is remote and requires travel throughout the United States, with an expected travel commitment of at least 50% - 75%.

Ideal geographic area to reside in is Southwest &/or Midwest. 
Must be in close proximity to an airport. 

Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites to ensure quality projects are installed per the scope of work and provided drawings.
  • Understand the scope of work and actively manage construction, reporting any issues to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure the quality of installation meets client and company specifications and standards.
  • Interpret provided drawings to ensure installation aligns with the concept.
  • Understand job site safety and correct contractors as needed in a firm but respectful manner.
  • Read and understand all plant-related requirements to guide contractors to successful installation.
  • Remain on-site for the duration of the project, being present whenever contractors are on-site, which may require 12-hour days.
  • Host pre-shift meetings for all crews on-site.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with plant personnel, ensuring all plant working permits are completed, organized, and available for each work shift.
  • Write clear and concise daily reports detailing job progress for distribution to corporate clients.
  • Communicate any issues that could hinder the project or result in poor-quality installation.
  • Understand contractors' job proposals and ensure all proposed work is completed and hours are tracked.
  • Determine the reasonableness of change orders and communicate with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain a positive attitude to set the mood for contractors.
  • Respect contractors and work collaboratively to solve issues proactively.
  • Minimize expenses while ensuring top-quality installation and maintaining the budget.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of onsite experience in one of the major trades.
  • Welding/Process Piping (Sanitary) is highly preferable 
  • Industries such as Food & Beverage, Dairy, Pharmaceutical, etc...
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 is a plus.
  • Experience in AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Ability to travel frequently up to 75% of the time.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
