We're growing, and we're looking for an exceptional Construction Manager to lead our construction team central to the NJ, Eastern PA, Northern DE, and Easter Shore of MD.

As our Construction Manager, you'll play a vital role in making that promise a reality.
What You'll Do
You'll lead a team of Residential Project Managers responsible for building exceptional homes, on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, Coach & Develop: Build a high-performing team of Project Managers through training, mentoring, support, and accountability.
- Drive Construction Performance: Ensure homes progress efficiently from start to finish, meeting construction schedules, budgets, quality standards, and closing commitments.
- Solve Problems: Anticipate challenges, remove obstacles, and help your team find practical solutions that keep projects moving forward.
- Deliver Customer Happiness: Promote proactive communication, exceptional service, and a consistently positive homebuilding experience.
- Maintain Financial Discipline: Oversee construction budgets, purchasing controls, invoice approvals, and cost performance.
- Build Strong Trade Partnerships: Develop productive relationships with subcontractors while maintaining clear expectations for quality, schedules, and performance.
- Champion Quality: Ensure every home reflects Schaeffer Homes' commitment to craftsmanship and outstanding attention to detail.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with Sales, Land Development, Purchasing, and Pre-Construction to ensure successful job starts and smooth construction operations.
- Lead by Example: Set the standard for organization, communication, accountability, and a fanatical sense of urgency.
We're looking for a positive, organized, results-driven leader who genuinely enjoys construction and helping people succeed.
Our ideal candidate has:
- At least five years of residential homebuilding construction management experience, preferably with a regional, production, or semi-custom homebuilder.
- Demonstrated experience leading multiple Project Managers, Superintendents, or construction teams.
- A proven record of delivering homes on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, building codes, scheduling, purchasing, and cost control.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence in holding employees and trade contractors accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Experience using construction management software and a willingness to embrace technology.
- The ability to balance big-picture leadership with hands-on involvement in the field.
