CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
LONG-TERM POSITION
WORK LOCATION: ON-SITE CENTRAL VALLEY, CA


PMCS is recruiting for a Construction Manager to concurrently manage approximately 8–10 small projects per year, primarily through remote project oversight. All projects located in CA Central Valley.
Project types: Water infrastructure projects, including booster station rehabilitations, storage tanks, wellhead treatment facilities, electrical panelboard upgrades, standby generators, pipelines, and other capital improvements.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in construction management with 5 years in water/wastewater treatment
  • Education background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently complete assignments.
  • Ability to interpret contract plans and specifications, including other agency permits.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • The CM shall perform project management and construction management services throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-construction, construction, startup and commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Organize project CM Kick-Off and Pre-Construction meetings
  • Maintain an updated contact list of all project participants
  • Manage communication with selected internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordination of contractors; vendors; Project Delivery; Engineering; District; etc.
  • Organize progress and other meetings, including reporting and action items
  • Provide periodic photographic site reports
  • Coordinate site access with the District and Contractor(s)
  • With CWS PM, procure 3rd party services as required
  • Recommend to CWS PM issuance of field directives and other instructions as applicable
  • Coordinate with CWS PM and take ownership of issue resolution
  • Monitor Contractor's compliance with terms of the Construction Contract
  • Observe and report on Site Safety compliance against requirements
  • Observe and report on SWPPP compliance against requirements
  • Ensure Contractor's compliance with Project Design and Specifications
  • Manage documentation of Design and Specification changes
  • Confirm quantities for installed work and/or materials on hand
  • Coordination of Owner furnished material and equipment delivery
  • Schedule management - driving schedule; setting recovery plan; etc.
  • Schedule management - baseline and progress schedule updates
  • Tracking of Weather Days and other delay days
