Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Construction Manager for our Bossier City, LA office. As a Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and ensuring the successful execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality construction projects on time and within budget.  

The ideal candidate would have the opportunity to become deeply involved in how we plan, deliver, modernize, and manage our existing utility systems. The role would be encouraged to bring creative ideas forward and would have access to the technical staff, operational knowledge, and organizational resources needed to turn those ideas into practical improvements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Project Planning: Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Contractor Management: Manage and coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee that construction work meets the highest standards and adheres to project specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel and compliance with OSHA and other safety standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, project stakeholders, and team members, providing regular updates on project progress, issues, and solutions.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Related Field; PMP or CCM certification preferred
  • Construction Management Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably in water and wastewater infrastructure projects, demonstrating expertise in project planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Water/Wastewater Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems, pipelines, and associated infrastructure is essential to effectively manage projects in this specialized field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, contract documents, and project controls
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in PMIS tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients are vital for success in this role.
  • Regulatory Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to water and wastewater projects is crucial to ensure projects meet all compliance requirements.
