Description

Job Summary

The Construction Manager will oversee all field activities and report to the Manager of Construction Services. The primary objective of this position is the day-to-day management of on-site construction and safety efforts.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project documents, including the prime contract, design drawings, specifications, contractor scopes of work, and the project schedule.
  • Participate in the development of the master schedule for the assigned project.
  • Conduct pre-mobilization meetings with contractors.
  • Schedule and coordinate all required permit, inspection, and testing agency activities.
  • Review contractor work plans for safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
  • Monitor contractor employees for compliance with OSHA and Owner safety and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate activities of all contractors to ensure efficient and productive use of resources, and plan work activities to ensure availability of design, client, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision.
  • Proactively manage events to avoid unnecessary change orders.
  • Ensure the quality of field installations.
  • Conduct on-site schedule coordination meetings weekly, or as required, to maintain effective communication, coordination, and schedule and cost control.
  • Promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally conscious site; conduct monthly on-site mass safety meetings and ensure adequate site security.
  • Maintain required project documentation, including OSHA logs, accident/incident reports, first-aid reports, SDS, daily reports, as-built drawings, communications, drawing revisions, engineering sketches, and directives.
  • Maintain timely and effective communications with the Project Manager and Manager of Construction Services to prevent project delays, overruns, or client dissatisfaction. Report weekly on construction status and issues concerning safety, schedule, cost, or client relations.
  • Provide on-site management, supervision, and coordination of construction activities.
  • Establish and monitor job site safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Control project schedule and cost through the efficient use of all construction resources, including client, materials, tools, and equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the construction industry in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Knowledge of new/existing refinery and chemical/bioprocessing plant procedures.
  • Knowledge in civil, electrical, structural, and mechanical engineering procedures.
  • Experience in new construction projects in an operating facility and coordination with the Client Operations Team.
  • Ability to conduct required site visits to gather project information, which may require climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship now or anytime in the future.
