Alkar Human Resources is currently hiring Temporary Construction Laborers to assist the Public Works Department with an upcoming building construction project. If you have hands-on construction experience, enjoy working outdoors, and are looking for a great temporary opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Do:
- Assist with commercial and municipal building construction projects.
- Safely use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Perform general construction labor, including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup.
- Support skilled trades and supervisors with daily project tasks.
- Operate or assist with scissor lifts and Gradall forklifts (experience is a plus but not required).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Follow all safety guidelines and Public Works procedures.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Previous construction or general labor experience is required.
- Experience operating a scissor lift or Gradall forklift is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to safety and the ability to follow instructions.
Schedule:
9/80 Work Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch).
- Working Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
- Every other Friday off.
Schedule may change based on departmental needs.
