    About the Program
    Join us for a 12-week, hands-on internship experience where you’ll gain real-world exposure to the construction industry while contributing to meaningful projects with Boyd Jones Construction. Our interns are not here to “just observe." They collaborate with experienced professionals, sharpen their skills, and leave with tangible accomplishments to add to their resume.

    Key Responsibilities
    As a Project/Field Engineer Intern, you will assist in managing daily activities on active building construction projects. Your assignments may include:
    • Performing quantity take-offs, layout, and site surveys
    • Assisting with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawing reviews
    • Supporting quality control and safety programs
    • Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and owners
    • Attending and documenting project meetings
    • Assisting in maintaining project schedules and cost tracking
    • Reviewing construction documents and specifications
    • Participating in punch-list and project closeout activities
     
    What You’ll Bring
    • Current enrollment in an accredited program in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
    • Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
    • Clear written and verbal communication abilities
    • Self-motivated and eager to learn
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with scheduling software is a plus
     
    Schedule & Work Environment
    • Full-time, 40 hours/week for 12 weeks during summer
    • Primarily field-based with some office assignments
    • Opportunities to work on major commercial and institutional projects
