Position Summary:
The Construction Inspector serves as the Owner's Representative on utility and infrastructure construction projects, ensuring quality workmanship, regulatory compliance, and adherence to design intent. This role plays a vital part in supporting Tetra Tech's mission to deliver sustainable, high-quality infrastructure by providing accurate field oversight, maintaining thorough documentation, and promoting collaboration between contractors, clients, and design teams. The Construction Inspector contributes directly to project success by ensuring that underground utility, water, and wastewater construction is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with plans and specifications.
Essential Job Functions:

Support the Engineer as an on-site representative, monitoring construction progress and quality for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Coordinate with Tetra Tech construction managers, contractors, and client representatives to support successful project delivery.
Attend progress meetings and assist with documenting key discussions, decisions, and action items.
Prepare daily reports documenting construction activities, equipment installation, and site conditions.
Track and maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, equipment deliveries, and correspondence.
Review and monitor submittals related to process equipment, mechanical systems, and materials.
Perform routine field inspections to verify construction aligns with plans, specifications, and approved submittals.
Observe installation of treatment systems, including pumps, piping, valves, and chemical feed systems.
Assist in observing testing activities such as pressure testing, equipment startup, and functional testing, and report findings to the Engineer.
Identify and document non-conforming work and support resolution with the project team.
Assist in reviewing contractor pay applications by verifying installed quantities and progress in the field.
Support preparation of progress reports for internal and client meetings.
