Job Description
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to ensure comprehensive understanding of requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to develop realistic project budgets.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
  • Manage bid proposals and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Track project costs and update estimates as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain a database of historical cost data to improve accuracy in future estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Construction Estimator should have:
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical documents.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with project stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach and attention to detail.
  • A degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
