Construction Estimator
Hialeah, FL | Full-Time | Office-Based
An established Florida general contractor with more than 30 years of experience is hiring a Construction Estimator to prepare takeoffs, cost estimates, bids, and proposals for commercial construction projects.
Commercial general contracting experience is preferred, but it is not required. Candidates with estimating experience in residential construction, subcontracting, windows and doors, roofing, painting, concrete, or other construction sectors are encouraged to apply.
Direct restoration experience is not required. The company will train the right candidate to estimate concrete repair, stucco, waterproofing, coatings, and commercial painting projects.
This opportunity may be structured for either a developing estimator with limited experience or a seasoned estimator capable of working more independently.

What You’ll Do
- Review construction drawings, specifications, bid invitations, and project requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Conduct site visits to review project conditions, access, logistics, and general scope.
- Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Prepare bids, proposals, clarifications, and supporting documentation.
- Track bid deadlines, addenda, revisions, and project information.
- Communicate with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members.
- Support project turnover by organizing estimating records and communicating important scope and pricing information.
What We’re Looking For
- Construction estimating, takeoff, bidding, or pricing experience.
- Commercial general contracting experience is preferred; residential construction experience will be considered.
- Ability to read construction plans, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Basic understanding of labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar takeoff software is preferred.
- Concrete restoration, stucco, waterproofing, painting, or building-envelope experience is a plus but not required.
Candidates with limited estimating experience will be considered if they demonstrate strong plan-reading, takeoff, computer, mathematical, and communication skills.
