Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction estimating for commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project documents, coordinating with subcontractors and project teams, and delivering competitive bids. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in commercial construction, cost analysis, and estimating software, with the ability to identify value engineering opportunities and manage multiple bids.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for commercial projects including light industrial, retail, medical, and office buildings.
  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiate pricing, and develop cost breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and design teams during preconstruction.
  • Maintain unit cost databases, historical pricing, and market trends.
  • Recommend value engineering and cost-saving solutions.
  • Prepare bid proposals, assist with risk assessments, review project cost impacts, and mentor junior estimators.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience with a general contractor preferred.
  • Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff, iSqFt, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and project management.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to visit job sites as needed with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
