We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position offering the successful candidate an opportunity to work on a diverse range of construction projects, including hospitals, higher education institutions, schools, commercial buildings, and government facilities. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for all aspects of cost estimation, from initial calculations to final cost summaries. This role is integral to the successful planning, design, and execution of construction projects, and as such, demands a professional with exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects in various sectors, including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and government.
2. Evaluate and analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
3. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
4. Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to accurately estimate costs.
5. Maintain current knowledge of trends and best practices in the construction industry, including new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
6. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects during the project planning phase.
7. Prepare and present cost reports and analysis to company management and clients.
8. Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.
9. Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, with a strong background in hospital, higher education, school, commercial, federal/state/government, industrial, and hospitality construction.
3. Proficient in industry-specific software and technology, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and cost estimation software.
4. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and accurately.
6. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
7. Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
8. Professional certification from the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) or similar is preferred.
9. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.
