Construction Estimator

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to lead preconstruction pricing efforts across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates that directly influence project awards, profitability, and long-term client relationships.

We are looking for a detail-driven professional with strong market awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to turn plans into strategic, winning bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to prepare comprehensive estimates

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and subcontracted scopes

• Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing

• Develop competitive bid packages and formal proposals

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during preconstruction

• Maintain and update cost databases and market pricing trends

• Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities

• Support post-bid negotiations and scope clarification

• Provide budgeting support for internal forecasting and pipeline planning

• Ensure all estimates align with company financial and strategic objectives

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience with a commercial general contractor preferred

• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and material costs

• Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, Planswift, Autodesk Build, ProEst, Sage Estimating, or similar)

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural documents

• Skilled in quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid strategy development

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred

• Valid driver's license required
