    Description

    Title: Construction EHS Supervisor

    Position Type: Contract

    Location: Indiana

    Key Project Requirements:

    • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and OSHA 500 certifications required.
    • 7+ years of construction safety experience, including at least 3 years supporting power generation, utility, industrial, or energy construction projects.
    • Experience supporting the construction, commissioning, and startup of simple-cycle or combined-cycle power plants strongly preferred.

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced Construction EHS Supervisor to lead all environmental, health, and safety activities during the construction, commissioning, and startup of a simple-cycle gas-fired power plant. This position will provide visible field leadership, ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements, oversee contractor safety performance, and promote a proactive, zero-incident safety culture throughout all phases of the project.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead the implementation and enforcement of all project EHS policies, procedures, and safety initiatives throughout construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
    • Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, toolbox meetings, and field observations to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project requirements.
    • Identify construction hazards, review JHAs, AHAs, and Safe Work Plans, and oversee permit-to-work programs including LOTO, confined space, hot work, excavation, crane operations, and work at heights.
    • Manage contractor and subcontractor safety performance through field audits, inspections, coaching, and coordination with project leadership.
    • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, develop corrective actions, and maintain OSHA logs and project safety documentation.
    • Monitor environmental compliance programs including waste management, erosion control, spill prevention, and regulatory reporting.
    • Develop emergency response plans, coordinate emergency drills, prepare EHS reports, and communicate safety performance to project leadership and the client.

    Job Requirements:

    • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and applicable environmental regulations.
    • Experience managing contractor and subcontractor safety programs on large construction projects.
    • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and incident investigation skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic safety management systems.
    • Experience working with EPC contractors and large capital construction projects.
    • Ability to maintain a strong field presence and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

    Education / Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
    • 7+ years of construction safety experience.
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certifications preferred.
    • First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
