PLE Construction Coordinator
Manage general contractor and subcontractor field construction activities
Safety:
Manage compliance to Client's Construction Safety Requirements and maintain incident free projects.
Support project budget and schedule:
Complete daily field status reports for management review
Review contractor change orders – validate scope and costs – submit for owner approval
Communications:
Coordinate between owner, contractor and A/E firm
Support the review and process requests for information, submittals, shop drawings and construction documents.
Meetings:
Support weekly general contractor meetings.
Meeting minutes and action item lists.
Close-out:
Coordinate as-built, operations & maintenance manuals and training to user group and support departments.
Support kanban (commissioning and start-up) activities
Review, prepare and coordinate completion of punch-list activities.
Complete all acceptance testing procedures.
General Description:
Responsible for managing general contractors and subcontractors, testing agencies, schedules on specific facilities projects in support and coordination of overall plant construction project completion. Administer construction contracts; conduct on-site inspection to monitor plan compliance. Direct activities of contractors and subcontractors to support project schedule in compliance with plans and specifications. Research, plan, and administer building projects, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, and building materials. Present status reports to owner. Receive, review and coordinate contract changes into project delivery. Be intimately and completely knowledgeable of current and future activities in area(s) of responsibility and be able to implement countermeasures to support project schedule.
Qualifications:
Construction and/or A/E firm project management experience – 5 plus years
Automotive experience – Assembly Plant and/or Powertrain/Unit Plant
Good organization and communication skills
Cost estimating/scheduling
Education:
Engineering; Architectural; or Construction Management degree OR Skilled trades with supervisory (superintendent/project manager) experience
Software:
Microsoft Office Software – PowerPoint, Excel, Word
